iDeas for a small business with low budget?

edited April 15 in Startups

Yes. Lemonade stand. $1 per glass. Total cost of water, lemons and sugar with a cup is less than $0.40. That is a 60% gross margin. A package of 100 cups can bring you $100 in revenue with $40 of costs and $60 in profit. If you sell at lunchtime in a major area, you can expect to sell 200 cups in 2 hours. That is $120 in profit working 2 hours per day. 365 days a year, that is $43,800 per year profit working only 730 hours a year. So if you make less than $25,000 a year working 1,500 - 2,000 hours a year and are unhappy with what you make, you can own any business like this and make plenty of money. You just have to want it bad enough.

There are quite a few small businesses that can run on a low budget. These range from your basic car wash to a printing shop. Here’s a list:

  1. Food stand/cart
  2. Car wash/detailing
  3. Landscaping
  4. Printing shop (quality pictures, blueprints, etc.)
  5. 3-D printing shop - advertise for prototypes
  6. House cleaning
  7. Pet sitting/grooming/dog walking
  8. Website designer

This is just a start but there are many more. Take one of these or keep on searching. Good luck!
